Hand therapy is often prescribed as a treatment for patients with hand, wrist, and upper extremity disorders. Those prescriptions are often filled within our suite by Seattle Hand Rehabilitation Clinic. Hand therapists in our clinic are physical and occupational therapists. They include:

Sandra Cawrse, OTR/L, CHT
Deborah Howard, MOT, OTR/L, CHT
Serina Hijirida, OTD, OTR/L, CHT
Jenny Stack, OTR/L, CHT
Kimberly Orndorff, MOT, OTR/L, CHT
Sunny Pickrell, MSPT
Kerri Arenholz, MS, OTR/L, CHT

A certified hand therapist is signified with the CHT following their licensing. Our therapists are either certified or preparing for certification. Our therapists work full time in the rehabilitation of patients with disorders in the hand, wrist, and upper extremity. If for any reason you would like to have therapy somewhere else, a therapist will gladly assist you in finding a clinic that fits your needs.

Therapy visits may include custom splint fabrication, individual instruction, and other treatments. Splint and brace fabrication are specialized therapy services and are important aspects of rehabilitation.

A session with a therapist is separate from a doctor visit. Please check with your insurance company to confirm your therapy benefits. We attempt to include our therapists in the same insurance plans as our physicians but this is not always possible. Your insurance company will be able to tell you what services are covered and if all of our therapists are covered within your plan. If you have questions about this after being seen please feel free to ask for our Managed Care Coordinator.

Appointments can be made by calling the main number at (206) 292-6252 or by stopping by the front desk on your way out. Don't forget that you may need a therapy appointment in addition to your doctor's appointment. Rehabilitation Clinic hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Your therapist can specify your appointment length, usually 45 minutes to one hour.

Expectations of Attendance:

If the need to cancel an appointment arises, we ask that you cancel your appointment with at least 24 hours notice so that other patients that may be waiting for an appointment can use your appointment time.

We understand that special circumstances may arise and you may need to cancel your appointment at the last minute. If this occurs, we ask that you please be polite and call to cancel or reschedule your appointment so that your therapist may adjust their schedule accordingly.

If you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment we may need to cancel and reschedule your appointment due to other scheduled appointments.

To maintain consistency in your therapy, we try to keep patients scheduled with the same therapist through out treatment.

If you fail to show or cancel 3 appointments in a row you will be asked to re-check with your physician before reinstating therapy. Special circumstances may be allowed per therapist decision.

Cellular phones are not allowed in the therapy clinic but may be used in the waiting area. Please remember to turn off your cell phone as you enter therapy.
